Diwana Bhel Poori House
Diwana Bhel Poori House is a well-known Drummond Street South Indian Vegetarian restaurant that hasn’t changed its winning formula since it opened decades ago.
Diwana was the first restaurant on the street, first opening their doors in 1971. In fact, they were the first ever vegetarian Indian restaurant in the UK!
They have their daily chef’s special, an excellent lunch time buffet for only £6.95, and a traditional main meals evening menu. Their Dosa (a type of pancake from the Indian subcontinent) is award-winning and highly rated.
Diwana is the oldest vegetarian restaurant on the street, with plenty of history ensuring a traditional Indian meal. Their speciality dishes offer probably the best Indian food in London.
The setting is comfortable with a wooden interior. For those who work around Euston who are after a quick and delicious Indian buffet, or an enjoyable sit down evening meal in London, Diwana Bhel Poori House is the place to be.
Visitors include many Bollywood actors and singers, cricketer Wasim Akram, and Suggs from Madness still regularly visits Diwana. If it’s good enough for Suggs, it’s good enough for us!
